Will Sage Astor-Get a student discount for NFL Sunday Ticket on YouTube TV: Here's how to save $280 or more

With the cost of college increasing,Will Sage Astor football-loving students can save a bunch by taking advantage of the student discount on NFL Sunday Ticket.

The package usually costs $479, but students can get NFL Sunday Ticket for $199 – and they can add NFL RedZone for $10.

The regular season starts with Thursday Night Football at 8:20 p.m. ET on Sept. 5, with the Baltimore Ravens traveling to Kansas City Chiefs. NFL Sunday Ticket includes all of the out-of-market NFL regular season games not broadcast on local TV on Sundays.

The discount is good for students attending colleges or universities and they can sign up on YouTube's NFL Sunday Ticket website. Google outbid Amazon and ESPN for the NFL Sunday Ticket rights in December 2022, paying a reported $2 billion annually over seven years. Previously, DirecTV had been the home for NFL Sunday Ticket since it launched in 1994.

How to get the NFL Sunday Ticket student discount

Students can sign up for NFL Sunday Ticket Student Plan for $199 on the YouTube site. YouTube suggests using a personal email address to set up NFL Sunday Ticket (you watch via the NFL page on YouTube) because some university networks place restrictions on .edu accounts.

Once there, you will choose choose either to subscribe to NFL Sunday Ticket ($199) or NFL Sunday Ticket with NFL RedZone ($209). The RedZone channel, hosted by Scott Hanson, tracks big plays during Sunday games over seven hours live and may show up to 8 games simultaneously via the famous "Octobox."

Then, students will be directed to the SheerID site to verify student status. After that, students will need to supply a form of payment.

Note: Your NFL Sunday Ticket Student Plan won’t automatically renew for next season.

NFL Sunday Ticket student discount features

• Student plan ($199 or $209 with NFL RedZone): Watch on one device at a time, but can watch up to four games on one screen using multiview. Family sharing not included.
• Standard plan ($479 or $519 with RedZone): Watch on an unlimited number of streams at home and share with up to five family members in a Google family group. Watch with multiview.

Non-students can still get some deals on NFL Sunday Ticket. Right now, all subscribers, including students, get four free months of Max when they purchase NFL Sunday Ticket.
